In just TWO DAYS we will be at the Tysons Corner American Girl® store to welcome the 2020 Girl of the Year!

We were at the store yesterday and found tantalizing floor-to-ceiling blackout curtains around large areas of both the upstairs and downstairs. We can't wait to see what's behind those curtains... and we don't have much longer to wait!

Want to meet up with us at the Girl of the Year debut event?

If you're in the Northern Virginia / DC / Maryland area and want to join us, both "Pearl" and "Lee" (that's Elizabeth and Rebecca, below) will be hanging out at the Tysons Corner American Girl store from 10:00 AM until at least 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

Look for us at the store, where we'll be enjoying the displays and taking pictures of the dolls. You might have to look around for us, as we won't be there in any sort of official capacity. When it comes to American Girl, we are fans like anyone else!

But please do tap us on the shoulder and introduce yourself. We love meeting our friends in person — and we definitely want to hear what you think about the new doll and her accessories.

Then around noon — after we've finished at the AG store — we'll be heading to the coffee cart and seating area in front of Nordstrom (above) to sit and chat about everything we've seen.

Look who's making beautiful things with Lee & Pearl Mystery Bag fabrics...

Longtime Lee & Pearl friend Lee B. sent us this photo of the doll outfit she made using a few pieces from her 2019 Mystery Bag — and we just had to share it!

Isn't that adorable?

Our favorite part is the way she perfectly coordinated the hunter green ribbed jersey to the vintage cotton print by adding an embroidered motif in the same pinks and light blues.

Lee B. has some great plans for a bomber jacket and shorts made from the royal blue pinwale corduroy on the right, that was also in her Mystery Bag. We can't wait to see that as well!
