It's almost Halloween, the favorite holiday of so many costumers — like our Pearl!

Over the years, Pearl has put together some marvelous costume and craft tutorials to get our dolls in the spooky spirit of the season. Let's take a look back at her greatest hits...

This was one of our most jam-packed newsletters ever. It led off with links to our YouTube video tutorials for perfect doll-scale fun-size candy bars and poly-clay candy corn.

Don't those look amazing? They're easy-to-make, too.

Then the newsletter continued with this picture-perfect Dread Pirate Roberts cosplay, made using our Pattern #3052: Pirates, Patriots and Princes 18th Century Men's Basics for 18" Dolls.

"As you wish...!"

Our Westley's mask is made from a scrap of KobraCast®, an ultra-lightweight, non-toxic thermoplastic that has a low activation temperature for safe and easy molding.

Still in the SAME newsletter, we debuted a Tweak the Pattern feature, based on our fabulous Pattern #3001: A Late Medieval Lady's Wardrobe for 18" Dolls, circa 1330-1450.

Flipping the dress closure from the front to the back and drafting new pattern pieces for a deep "tapestry" hem (cut from an inexpensive pashmina shawl) turned our historically-accurate medieval gown into a screen-accurate Disney princess dress!

Finally, we invited all our dolls over for a party — wearing costumes created from a whole range of wonderful Lee & Pearl patterns!

But Pearl wasn't done with Halloween yet!

Last year she created this equally spooktacular extravaganza — our Mad Scientist Lab Newsletter, which featured American Girl®, A Girl for All Time® and Wellie Wisher® dolls all dressed in dark-toned lab coats made using our Pattern 1025: She Blinded Me with Science Unisex Lab Coat and Safety Goggles for for 18 Inch, 16 Inch and 14 1/2 Inch Dolls, the perfect pattern for doll scientists, mad or otherwise. (If you haven't joined our mailing list yet to receive your own copy of this fun pattern, DO SO HERE.)

Along with the perfect costumes, we also included details on all the furniture and props that we used, some of which we found (like these craft store glass bottles and vintage analog meters) and some of which we MADE...

... like our faux soapstone tabletop, and the creepiest painting plastic tutorial we've ever done — this realistic doll-scale BRAIN, made from a bright pink plastic squeeze toy.

And look, here's our poly clay candy corn again! Even mad scientists get peckish around this time of the year.

One of the most fun elements in this photoshoot was LIGHTING it all. So in the newsletter, we've included behind-the-scenes details on the inexpensive tools we used to give everything the proper eerie glow.
