We're off to the beach with this pair of vintage-inspired swimsuits from Lee & Pearl!

Our Retro Ruffled Swimsuit channels the feminine '50s with a scooped neckline in front and a waist-slimming low neckline in back, allowing easy on-and-off play without any hair-snagging fasteners.

The suit's low back is complemented by a fetching double ruffle, sewn into an attractively curved seam that echoes the low back curve. We finished the ruffles with serger-finished rolled hems (sometimes called "lettuce hems") for extra fluffy swirl!

Perhaps your dolls want to grab their longboards and join Frankie and Annette for a '60s beach party? Our High Waisted Bikini delivers mod '60s style in two versions: a super-chic plain version that looks great with graphical prints or big Hawaiian-style flowers, and a super-sweet ruffled version that looks great with everything.

We value our reputation for perfect fit, so when we resized our 18 inch version of this pattern for the 16 inch A Girl for All Time and 14 1/2 inch WellieWishers and similar dolls, we didn't just scale down the larger pattern.

Rather, we drafted the new sizes from the ground up to suit the new dolls and their unique proportions!

We lowered the hip rise slightly to create a better vintage look — and dropped the front neckline scoop to match. We even changed the shape of the back ruffle tiers to better suit long, slim torsos.

Then we wrote entirely new bikini bottom construction directions — a new method designed to keep construction as easy as possible on tiny-waisted dolls like these.

When it comes to construction and fit, Lee & Pearl believe in going above and beyond!

The High Waisted Bikini is rated EASY, especially when you combine the pattern directions with the tips and tricks in our FREE Sew Easy with Spandex eBook!

The Retro Ruffled Swimsuit (and ruffled version of the Bikini) are rated INTERMEDIATE for curved seams on slippery fabrics and serger-produced rolled hems.
