Next up, we've got BIG NEWS for fans of the Lee & Pearl special offer Fabric & Trim Kits.

On Sunday, we discovered an opportunity to purchase the remaining fabric inventory of a high-end, Korean-American handcraft business estate.

"Lee" jumped in her mini-van and drove out to take a look — and couldn't believe what she found. That estate turned out to comprise over 200 bolts of fabric, nearly all of which are silk.

We quickly canvassed our Lee & Pearl Facebook friends — this is why you should follow our Facebook page, by the way — and you told us to BUY IT.

So we did.

Lee is currently going through the inventory and creating a rough estimate of the materials. So far, it looks like more than half of the bolts are vividly colored silk organzas originally intended for hanbok skirts and pojagi quilting. This is a wonderful material — sturdy but ethereal, used for a wide range of couture techniques, trims and garments. There are also bolts of figured China silk, smaller pieces of silk brocades, some very fine dupionis and bengalines, and quite a few varieties of silk that we don't have names for, including about 30 short-width bolts that may be vintage or hand-woven, or both.

If you haven't bookmarked the Fabric & Trim section of our Etsy shop yet, don't worry — you haven't missed anything. Putting together patterns and crafts for these materials and figuring out the best, most cost-effective ways to get them out to YOU, our friends and customers, may take several months. We will keep our fans abreast of our progress, and may call for your suggestions and votes from time to time, both here and on our Facebook page. So stay tuned — it's going to be an incredible summer!
