Our patternmaker (and fabric wrangler-in-chief) Pearl has been packing up beautiful, 100% silk organza kits for our friends and fans all week — and having a blast picking five coordinated colors for each kit.

Putting together coordinated kits is easy with our five themed collections: ROYAL JEWELS, AUTUMN LEAVES, IN THE PINK, SPRING MORNING and SHIFTING SANDS. We've already pre-selected twenty-plus colors to choose from in each collection that coordinate beautifully and thematically.

But with our MYSTERY PACK kits, Pearl really got to have fun.

With a palette of OVER ONE HUNDRED AND TEN COLORS of brilliant silk organza spread across the worktable in front of her, Pearl found that creating each kit was like creating a little work of art. And works of art are best when they tell stories, aren't they?

So Pearl started thinking of unique stories for each kit, and selecting the colors to tell those stories in fabric form: These five colors are a desert sunrise! These are a rose in a snowstorm! These are a Disney princess!

And then she thought — wouldn't YOU like to be the one imagining the unique visual story for your own kit?

That's where you can send a note directly to Pearl, that she'll print out and read as she is selecting the five colors for your kit.

And that's where you can tell Pearl the word or phrase or character or picture that suggests the story you're thinking of — and let's see what happens!

Pearl is feeling creative and has over one hundred and ten colors in her palette to paint your unique picture. Let's have some fun with this!

Here's some important information for our international friends:

If you would like a kit or kits shipped outside of the U.S., send us an email and we will set you up with a SPECIAL ORDER. We have not included international shipping on our Etsy listings as Etsy currently does not allow shops to offer flat rate First Class international shipping, and we do not want to use calculated rates as that would double charge international buyers for the shipping costs already included in the price.

And please don't be intimidated by the word "silk" or the word "organza." If you are used to working with slippery silk chiffons or polyester organza, you are in for a pleasant surprise!

100% silk organza is a light, crisp and sturdy translucent fabric that barely unravels, cuts and pins with ordinary sharp tools, runs through the sewing machine like a dream, steams gently into billowing folds — or presses absolutely flat like paper.

It really is as easy to work with as quilting cotton.
