ORANGE you glad it's almost Halloween?
Is Halloween your favorite holiday?
It must have been the favorite holiday of the custom seamstress who collected the gorgeous Korean silks that we've been thrilled to share with our friends in the Fabric & Trim Kits Section of our Etsy store. Of all the beautiful colors in her collection which includes over 100 shades of silk organza alone the color that we have the most of is #89: VIBRANT ORANGE.
VIBRANT ORANGE is a glorious color. It's like every Halloween pumpkin ever, spun out of sparkling silken threads and then saturated, and over-saturated and super-saturated until it glows. And we've got six bolts of it, which is a pretty amazing amount.
That's why, from today through Halloween, October 31, 2019, we're slashing the price on VIBRANT ORANGE 100% silk organza all the way down to only $6/yard.
$6 per yard. That's less than JoAnn charges for ordinary polyester organza. In fact, that's less than JoAnn charges for ordinary polyester organza when it's ON SALE. That's crazy-craft-project pricing. Heck, that's why-not-make-your-child's-pumpkin- costume-out-of-silk-organza pricing.
And of course, it's also why-not-make-YOURSELF-a-trendy-silk-coat-or-wrap pricing.
VIBRANT ORANGE isn't just a great color for Halloween. It's also a wildly popular fashion color right now. Use it alone as a coat or a scarf, or mix it with one of our saturated pinks, like #15 HOT PINK or #21 JUICY BERRIES for a truly fabulous sewing project.

Speaking of truly fabulous sewing projects, Pearl has finally succumbed to the temptation of all the glorious bolts of silk in the workroom and has decided to make something for herself.
Earlier this week, Pearl pulled a handful okay, more than a handful of patterns that would make great silk organza projects...
Do you own any of these?
We put these patterns to a vote on our Facebook page, and here's the WINNER: Vogue 1347, a Chado Ralph Rucci shirt-jacket with some wonderful shaping and color block-able seaming details that Pearl bought back in 2013.
With over one hundred colors to choose from, Pearl decided to get technical and scanned the pattern diagram into Photoshop to virtually compare different silk color arrangements.
Here are her favorites clockwise from top left, that's #29 Tomato with #97 Golden Russet, #1 Mushroom with #36 Smoked Orchid, #65 New Leaf with #51 Bright Navy and #21 Juicy Berries with #89 Vibrant Orange (yup, that's $6/yard Vibrant Orange).
Stay tuned to find out which of these combos Pearl has chosen, and follow along as she adapts the pattern to beautiful, translucent silk organza!
