It's the night of the ballet company Grand Gala and our little dancer enchants the crowd with her guest solo, wearing an elegant, longline Russian ballet bodice and graceful Neo-Classical tutu...

After her dance is done, she hurries backstage to change into her party dress — a stunning dropped waist ballgown with built-in tulle petticoats, a ribbon belt and luxurious, opera-length evening gloves.

Now all eyes are upon her as she enters the ballroom, ready to dance the night away...

We have so many fabrics and we're cutting them so generously that Pearl had to create a test package to make sure that we could fit all the pieces we want to get into each Mystery Bag actually IN a Mystery Bag.

It was a tight squeeze, but we're going to make it work!

Cottons, wools, tweeds, jerseys, linens, plaids, stripes, twills, corduroys, seersuckers, faux suede, faux fur, silkies, special occasion fabrics, rayon challis, nubbly vintage suitings, and even some amazing doll-scale vintage double knits (perfect for your American Girl® Julie™ dolls) — the fabric store of all our dreams has exploded in the Lee & Pearl workroom.

What will you find in each bag? That's the MYSTERY. Each one will be different. Each bag will contain approximately eight good-sized pieces of fabric, with each piece at least 1/4 yard or one fat quarter or larger — and many pieces will be larger!

Finally, we have a message for everyone who ordered a Mystery Bag on the first day they were available. Friday is our deadline to get those bags in the mail — and Pearl is really, really trying to make that deadline.

But it's starting to look like that might not happen.

There are just so many fabrics, and with each new piece, Pearl likes to do a little research: Is this fabric truly doll scale? Are there patterns that can be made with this fabric? And are we including a big enough piece to make those patterns?

If our schedule slips, and the packages do not go in the mail until Monday, we hope that you can be understanding and patient with poor Pearl. The packages include FREE PRIORITY MAIL in the US, so even with late shipping, they will definitely be in your mailbox and under your tree before Christmas.
