Over the last year, we filled our designer's storage with beautiful fabrics discovered at estate sales, designer showrooms and manufacturer and store liquidations. With such glorious abundance, we were able to divide the treasures we want to share into not just one, but two Mystery Bag Sales.
Last Cyber Week, we launched the winter collection — which SOLD OUT in record time. Now the debut of our summer collection of vintage and modern cotton calico fabrics is almost here...
Mark your calendars for the Lee & Pearl Etsy store launch of our 2021 Cotton Fabric Mystery Bags on Thursday, July 1st at 1PM Eastern Time (12PM Central / 11AM Mountain / 10AM Pacific).
Each Cotton Fabric Mystery Bag will contain EIGHT pieces of beautiful, doll sewing-appropriate cotton (FOUR half-yards and FOUR fat quarters or quarter-yard strips) in at least two coordinating colorways.
We've got so many gorgeous prints to place in these bags that the selection is almost overwhelming. But curating collections like these is something our designer LOVES doing. Just look at these photos she made pulling together random pieces from the boxes around the workroom table.
Don't they make you want to grab a pattern and start sewing immediately??!
You'll recognize lots of names and designers on these fabrics — from the vintage mills of our childhood like Cranston, VIP and Peter Pan to the hip, modern collections of Moda, Michael Miller, Kaufman and Riley Blake.
Each Cotton Fabric Mystery Bag set of eight fabrics will include at least one coordinating solid, so you're not left scrambling to find fabric for piping, collars and pockets.
Here's another bonus you get when you buy a Mystery Bag from Lee & Pearl: whenever possible, we rip our fabrics along exact grain lines rather than cutting them. Cutting may be easier on the arms, but an off-grain cut can cost you a lot of usable width when sewing for dolls — and we want you to use every last scrap of these wonderful fabrics!
