Hooray! It's October — every patternmaker's favorite month.

But today we want to talk about something completely NEW to the shop.

Our patternmaker "Pearl" has finally started posting for sale some of the THOUSANDS of printed patterns that she's collected over the years (and is still collecting — she brought home forty more from an estate sale last week!)

And since it's October, she started by posting a selection of awesome COSTUME patterns. Woo-hoo!

Look at all the beautiful historically-inspired patterns like the ones above. Historical patterns have always been a favorite in Pearl's collection.

But she's got great movie- and fandom-inspired patterns like these below, as well.

And here's a historical- AND movie-inspired pattern. Remember Shakespeare In Love? This pattern, inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow's costumes, is such a beauty, chock full of details you rarely see in a Big Four pattern.

Here's a steampunk pattern by Theresa LaQuey, the sister of prolific designer Andrea Schewe, whose name you can spot on many other patterns in this grouping.

"Lee" and "Pearl" are sisters, too, so we think that's so cool!

Some of these costume patterns are totally adorable on their own. For instance, isn't the wee elephant amazing? Don't you just want to make that for someone tiny and then carry them around all evening trick-or-treating? Eep!

We hope that you enjoy browsing this new collection. But don't wait too long to purchase your favorites. We only have ONE of most of these patterns. And once that ONE has sold out, we can't guarantee ever finding another.
