Lee & Pearl Pattern 1943: Molly Waves Goodbye 1940s Suit for 18 Inch Dolls is our interpretation of a genuine 1943 doll pattern's post-wedding "waving goodbye" outfit.

The pattern includes a JACKET with curved front seams, blouson back and lapel facing, an A-LINE SKIRT with waistband, rear closure and inverse front pleat, a FITTED SLIP (or sleeveless DRESS) with French seams and an internal yoke lining, and a close-fitting CAP with tailored bow trim, internal facing and an optional full lining.

Lee & Pearl Pattern 2021: Hollywood Hats — The Glengarry for 18 Inch Dolls is our stylish version of a hat that has been worn since the 18th century.

Though initially a form of Scottish military headgear, the Glengarry quickly became popular for English and American civilians: men, women and children, too! The style was particularly popular during the American Civil War era — and then again in Molly's 1940s.

Our version of the Glengarry features a unique sewn construction with a recessed tip (top) that mimics the look of a molded felt hat. We have included detailed directions for a bias band facing, an optional full lining — and a jaunty ribbon cockade!

We love the authentic look of these two 40s-inspired patterns, but we also love using the individual pieces as retro elements in our modern girls' wardrobes.
