Today we're turning our focus to the printed pattern sections of our Etsy store.

Our designer and long-time pattern collector Pearl has been collecting 18 inch doll patterns for many years, and she's just uploaded a huge group of those patterns to the Patterns: Craft Doll Toy section of our Etsy store.

Then she sorted several hundred vintage kids patterns from an estate sale — great for sewing unique gifts or for doll wardrobe inspiration — into clearance lot groupings and put them in a NEW Patterns: Clearance Lots section of our Etsy store.

At a recent estate sale, Pearl came across a vast collection of HUNDREDS of amazing children’s patterns. Whoever owned these patterns was either a professional seamstress for many decades — or sewed for a family of children, grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A few of the patterns date to the 1940s, many come from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, a few more come from the ‘80s and ‘90s, and there are even a couple of contemporary patterns.

Here’s the catch…

Whoever owned these patterns USED them. Nearly all are cut and many of the envelopes are worn. Some of the envelopes are worn out. Though Pearl does not typically buy patterns in this condition at estate sales, she just couldn’t leave this marvelous collection behind to wind up in a dumpster or landfill.

So she bought ‘em all.

We have now grouped, photographed and packed these patterns to sell in a new Clearance Lots section of our Etsy shop.

Before you purchase, please understand that these are all AS IS listings.

We have not checked any of the patterns for completeness. Please assume that they are not all complete. Some may be, some may not be. We just don’t know. That’s why we’ve priced these pattern lots to cover our costs only. We are not making any profit on these patterns, or even covering most of our time in processing them. We just want to share them with people who think they are as wonderful as we do.

And here’s a tip: we’ve organized each listing in a way that we wish more pattern lots were organized — by SIZE — because don’t you hate it when you have to buy a whole bunch of wrong-size patterns to get that one right-size pattern?
