Some of our eagle-eyed friends noticed the cute gym shorts that our A Girl for All Time® Lydia is wearing in our T-shirt pattern photos. Could that be a new Lee & Pearl pattern, they asked...?

Yes, it is!

And not just any new pattern — this is our COMING VERY SOON "Pearls by Lee & Pearl" Pattern 101 Gym Shorts for Dolls, which will be available in 18 inch, 16 inch and 14 1/2 inch sizes.

This is a whole new concept for us, and we're so excited about it! "Pearls by Lee & Pearl" will be a second line — alongside our regular pattern line — of time- and budget-friendly, easy-to-make patterns for basic wardrobe items and accessories.

We can't wait to share this first, perfect "pearl" with you!

Of course these new patterns will still feature the same Lee & Pearl just-like-the-real-thing looks, fabulous fit, computer drafted and guaranteed-to-fit-together pattern pieces, and photo-illustrated directions.

In fact, the directions for these patterns will be EVEN MORE THOROUGH — highlighting tools and techniques that might be unfamiliar to beginner sewers.

Here's another one for our eagle-eyed friends — not that you need eagle eyes to spot GLITTER SNEAKERS! OMG!!

One of our favorite A Girl for All Time Facebook fan groups went nuts over these little sneakers last week — which are currently available as ONE DOLLAR KEY CHAINS in Dollar Tree stores around the US. Of course we ran right out and picked up a few pairs of gold, silver, pink and blue sneakers for our own 16" girls!

The fit is almost perfect. The shoes are a little long in the toe, but that just makes the dolls stand up more sturdily while wearing them. Each shoe is sold individually, and they are not differentiated as left or right shoes. But to be honest, they aren't super-carefully made, and by sorting through the bins (near the front of the store) we were able to put together pretty good pairs of left- and right-veering shoes.

If you're grabbing your keys to run off to the store right now, keep your doll Halloween plans in mind as well. Seasonal displays are going up everywhere this week, and we found these great doll-scale items for Halloween at Dollar Tree.

Our Mad Scientist Chrissa will enjoy having the new skull-on-a-stand and semi-articulated bird skeleton in her laboratory set-up this year.
